Lisa Mandel - Registered Dental Assistant Level 2 with a Preventive Dentistry Module

Hi, I am Lisa Mandel.  I grew up east of Olds on a hobby farm.  I graduated from High School with full Esthetics and after graduation furthered my studies as nail technician.  I attended College of New Caledonia in Prince George BC and graduated as a Registered Dental Assistant with my Level 2 (meaning I could practice all certified Skills) I also took one year of university studies towards a Dental Hygiene program. I then stayed for three years and moved back to Alberta.  I did aesthetics and nails out of a salon after my regular dental work day. I have always had a keen interest in both Dental and Aesthetics. Over the years I have been able to work in various fields of dentistry and have taken many courses to further my education in related fields.  I graduated from SAIT with my Preventative Dentistry module and was asked to come back and help teach.  I also teach piano and make custom jewellery.  I Love sharing the knowledge I have with other people.  I now have over 10 years in the dental field and even longer in Esthetics.

I came up with the concept of a Dental Hygiene Spa many years ago, but it wasn't until recently that Dental Hygienists were able to practice their skills in private practice that this became a reality for me.  Over the years patients were always telling me I can’t relax in here with all these dental noises and smells.  I really took into consideration what everyone was telling me and now you can have a relaxing, professional dental cleaning, covered by benefits, that is in a totally different environment and you can relax! Patients can have a combination of dental and spa treatments together or one after the other!  

The feedback that our office has already received from patients makes it all worth it. I am so excited about what we have to offer you! Please feel free to drop in, have a coffee, have a free consultation and we’ll show you around the office.



Dusty McDougall - Registered Dental Hygienist

Hi! My name is Dusty McDougall and I am a Registered Dental Hygienist.  I have been in the dental field for 19 years -- that is a lot of teeth!
 
I started my career as a Dental Assistant in Edmonton and then took my training in London, England 13 years ago to become a Dental Hygienist.
 
I am very excited about the recent advantage of being an Independent Dental Hygienist -- this allows my creativity to soar!  Being a Dental Hygienist in a relaxing spa environment is one way to capture a very unique, customized and refreshing approach to your dental hygiene visits.  It is exciting to know that you can have a massage, sauna and dental cleaning all in one place.  You couldn't ask for anything more revitalizing!
 
I take great pride in forming a trusting friendship with all my patients and strictly ensure that each patient feels comfortable and safe.  I want you to be able to ask questions and gain knowledge about your dental health and I promise to work with you to help you attain optimum oral health.

Wendy Berg - Licensed Esthetician

Hi, my name is Wendy Berg and am pleased join the "Soothing Smiles" team. I am a Certified Esthetician and received my Esthetics Spa Professional Certification at a private institute in Vernon, BC. I have worked in a variety of spa environments and broadened my scope of experience since completing the course. In addition to the esthetics certification, I have added a Medi Spa Technician module. I am able to offer my clients the quality they deserve in all areas of esthetics, particularly in the area of skin care, its treatments and valuable product knowledge.

I enjoy putting my skills to use in all spa services and making the experience relaxing and restful for each client.
